Meyda Lighting's Max Cohen Nominated to Conduct Utica Symphony Orchestra for USO.

Meyda Lighting Area Sales Manager Max Cohen Nominated to Conduct Utica Symphony Orchestra and Help Support the USO

Yorkville, New York—To help raise funds in support for the USO (The United Service Organizations Inc.), Meyda Lighting Area Sales Manager Max Cohen has been nominated to conduct the Utica Symphony Orchestra at the Stanley Center for the Arts. Meyda Custom Lighting is a Meyda Tiffany company and a leading manufacturer and designer of custom lighting and décor.

On March 26th at 8 PM, the Utica Symphony Orchestra will present its family "Salute to Patriotism" Concert, at the Stanley Center for the Arts, featuring the combined choruses of Clinton, Holland Patent, Proctor and Whitesboro High Schools - along with the popular “Maestro Madness” competition.  The competition will feature community leaders, including Mr. Cohen, contending for the opportunity to conduct the Orchestra’s finale and to earn the title of "the Maddest, Baddest Maestro in the Mohawk Valley."

As part of this special event, donations to the USO are requested in Mr. Cohen's name. Every dollar donated counts as one vote for Max Cohen. During the intermission, the audience will also vote for their favorite conductor. The “Maestro” with the greatest number of donations at the end of the evening will receive the chance of a lifetime – to conduct the Utica Symphony Orchestra in the concert finale.

To support the USO and cast ballots for Mr. Cohen, please contact The Utica Symphony Orchestra (a 501 C 3, tax-exempt organization): Email: mensign@uticasymphony.net  Phone: 315.732.5146  Fax: 315.732.5147

Other contestants include Jeff Daniels, Joseph R. Fusco and Dr. Gilbert Lawrence.

About the USO

Throughout our country's history, Americans have felt profound appreciation and gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of our troops and their families.  The USO provides a tangible way for all of us to say "Thank You," as it has done for 70 years.

Thanks to Americans' generosity the USO fulfills its mission of lifting the spirits of America's troops and their families.  Through the USO, American citizens can touch the their lives through an extensive range of programs at more than 150 centers in 27 countries, and at hundreds of entertainment events each year.

Thousands of USO volunteers do everything possible to provide a home away from home for the troops and keep them connected to the families they left behind.  The USO makes sure the help goes to those who need it the most:  troops serving in combat, their families, our wounded warriors and their families, and the families of the fallen.

As a nonprofit, non-political organization, the USO is now, and always will be, about our troops. Wherever and whenever they go, the USO will be there, until every one comes home.
