The marijuana industry needs more LED lighting


According to the Washington post a new report ” suggests that marijuana production in the U.S. accounts for one percent of the entire nation’s electrical output — the equivalent of the electricity used by 1.7 million homes with a staggering price tag of $6 billion every year.”   John Kagia who authored the report says  “Marijuana is the most energy-intensive agricultural commodity that we produce, and that’s largely because of the very high energy costs associated with its cultivation and production indoors.” John also says that LED lighting advances should bring down the energy use.

    In house Marijuana farming requires LED’s for lighting and as an energy source.
    But I don’t think it will revolutionize the LED culture.
